WPC-R5 is a self cleaning sodium silicate based wood preservative. It changes the Ph level of your roof from acidic (which moss, fungus, and lichen thrive in) to neutral, even slightly alkaline. This creates an environment where moss cannot grow!! In addition to controlling the moss and fungus growth, WPC-R5 is a UV blocker. This cuts in half the deterioration caused by harmful UV rays of the sun. Think of it just like your skin. This treatment is used in a no pressure wash process of roof maintenance on cedar shakes.
